Can you imagine what it would be like if creativity worked like a tap? Just turn it on and art flows right out of your hands! Sadly that couldn't be farther away from the truth. For me, finding my inspiration is just as tough as actually creating something out of it. That's why, to avoid dry spells longer than time itself, I like to keep looking for inspiration all around me. Someday i'll look at a pretty flower and be inspired, on other days, although, I have to be considerably less subtle and more direct in my continuous search. Over the past few years I've found quite a lot of artists online that are so beautiful and so inspiring that i just can't help but talk about them every now and then.
My current favorite of these artists would be Santiago Guevara (you can find him on Instagram here and check out his amazing website here and his Domestika course ). I found Guevara and fell in love with the art instantly; it was as if every stroke was deliberate but had a certain degree of carelessness that is often seen in the works of truly brilliant minds.
His art is truly a unique mixture of subtle realism and bold abstractness. The pencil seems to capture not just the subject but also a glimpse of the artist's mind as it flows onto the page. That work with mere lines and scribbles really taught me that art doesn't have to be flawless to be perfect, it has to invoke an emotion in you. He also inspired me to discover the endless worlds of abstract expression and the magic of graphite on a piece of paper.
Here's my first attempt at both of those fields, inspired, obviously, by Santiago:
He's really an underappreciated artist I recently bought some prints from his website and they are amazing

ReplyDeleteThank you so much. This means so much to me!
DeleteBeing an artist is often a vulnerable path. You make something so deeply personal and then present it to the world with an open hear .Thank you for sharing your work with not only us but the world.
ReplyDeleteThankyou so much... Such words always mean a lot to me

ReplyDeleteThanks for the invitation to view your blog and make suggestions. It’s so interesting to see how differently it is set up than mine. I really enjoyed the content.
ReplyDeleteAs for comments/suggestions...
Nitpicking: Personally, in this entry, I’d place a return after your top image before the The. Also, I just happen to dislike justified text because sometimes there is a line with only 3 words stretched across it. But again, just a personal preference you can take or leave.
I’m definitely going to follow and enjoy your blog, and give it a mention for you. Not that I have any kind of substantial following myself or anything, but every little bit helps, right? Best wishes.
Thankyou so much for your insights
DeleteI will look into the suggestions and hope to create better content
